CompressX 1.3: Updated pricing, hardware acceleration, and additional features
6 February, 2024
Pricing update
CompressX follows the perpetual license pricing model. This means that when you purchase the app, you can use it indefinitely, including one year of free updates. I apologize for not communicating this earlier.
Two pricing tiers have been introduced: Personal and Standard. The Personal license allows you to use CompressX on one device, while the Standard License allows you to use it on two devices.
Existing paid users will be automatically upgraded to the Standard license while existing free users will be automatically upgraded to the Personal license.
The license key is sent with the email receipt when you purchase the app. You can also find your license key by following this link.
Starting from version 1.3, a license key is required to continue using the app. If you have any questions regarding the new pricing, please refer to the FAQs on the pricing page. Thank you for your understanding.
New release ✨
Some highlights of this update include:
Add support for customizing the output file name format
To update the filename format of the output file in CompressX, follow these steps: Go to CompressX, then click on Settings, and select General. From there, you can modify the filename format. This will remove the random numbers from the end of the file name.
Hardware acceleration for video compression is now supported (beta)
When compressing a large file, the CPU usage will be reduced to prevent your Mac from overheating. Please note that this feature is still in beta, so the compressed file may have lower quality compared to non-hardware accelerated compression.
Add a small card to notify users about the availability of a new version
Stay updated with the latest version for a bug-free experience and access our newest features.
To update the app, go to CompressX → Check for updates... or click Check for Updates in the Settings window.
